FAQ

How long do you take to fulfill orders and when can I expect to receive my order?

I'm a super tiny micro-business, so the time I need to prepare an order for shipping varies, but most products and orders are shipped out within 1-3 business days. Exceptions do rarely apply, such as during busier holiday seasons or when I'm taking a much needed vacation, but these will typically be noted in the website header, shop banner on the main page, here in the FAQ, and on our shipping policy page when applicable.

Different shipping methods are displayed at checkout with delivery estimates. Delivery dates are estimated based on my average processing times and the shipping carrier's average delivery times but delivery dates are estimates only and are not guaranteed. I do my best to fulfill orders in a timely manner and 99% of customers receive their orders on time or earlier. However, life happens, and as a tiny one-woman operation without additional employees, I simply can't offer the same shipping guarantees as larger corporations. If you need to receive your order by a specific deadline, please reach out directly so that I can give you an more specific estimate or let you know if I can expedite your order. Expedited shipping options are available at checkout - please purchase one of these if you need to receive your order as soon as possible.

Please note that custom or personalized items (such as custom tea blends or personalized gift baskets) generally take a couple of days longer to make. For details, see individual items or contact me at mulberrycreektraditionals@gmail.com (or using the "Contact" page) with any specific questions.

What is your return and refund policy?

I stand by my products and want you to be satisfied with your purchase. For more information on returns and refunds, view our complete return policy.

Please note that custom tea blends and customized gift sets are final sale due to their personalized nature and the additional time and effort required to make them.

What sustainability practices do you utilize?

Great question! I try to use plastic-free, biodegradable, renewable and/or recyclable packaging and shipping materials wherever possible. Over 95% of orders ship out in plastic-free packaging! Your order may occasionally arrive in re-used packaging that I've received and repurposed from other companies, and sometimes this is plastic that's been given more than a single use. While our packaging may not be as pretty as the custom bags and mailers you might receive from other companies, I pride myself on doing what I can to not excessively add to the waste stream. (That being said, rest assured that any orders sent as gifts are packaged as nicely as possible and not in reused packaging.)

I also do not include packing slips or invoices with your order by default - this saves thousands of sheets of paper (and lots of ink!) on something that most people simply throw away. If you do want a packing slip included with your shipment, please leave me a note and I'll print one off for you.

I've also made the commitment since day one to use only certified organic herbs in all of my herbal products as well as to source from reputable, sustainably-minded growers and suppliers. I believe this makes a big difference in the quality of our products and in the health of our customers and our earth. (Please note that a small handful of our ingredients may not be certified organic because they are wildcrafted, but they are always naturally grown.)

While I've had to pause offering our teas and cocoas in tins and glass jars due to them being discontinued by my suppliers, I am actively looking for affordable options to bring these back in the future as well.

While there will always be improvements that can be made, I'm looking forward to being able to afford to implement more sustainable practices in the future as my little business grows!

What is the shelf life on your teas and cocoas? Do they have an expiration date? And will they still be fresh if I order earlier than I need them?

While many teas don't technically have an expiration date, they will lose flavor and potency over time, so I always say they're best consumed within a year, especially those that contain pieces of fruit. The same goes for my cocoa blends!

For reference, many big-brand bagged teas have a "best by" date that's two years out from the production date. Since my blends are made in small batches with the freshest ingredients I can get my hands on, I believe they're even better and more potent, but I still recommend consuming within one year to maximize the medicinal and health benefits of the herbs within.

How many ounces are each of your sizes?

Conventionally, dry goods are sold according to their net weight. As my different sizes are standardized by volume, the net WEIGHT in ounces varies for each blend, as blends with more roots and spices weigh much more than those made up of more dried leaves and flowers, even though the serving size is the same (approx. 1 tsp per cup brewed). Net weights are listed in the product descriptions and on their respective packaging.

For comparison however, or if you're trying to fill a specific size of container with your tea,  the ounces by VOLUME is as follows: samples (8 servings) are 1.3 oz, smalls (20 servings) are 3.3 oz, mediums (50 servings) are 8 oz, larges (75 servings) are 12 oz, and tins (90 servings) are 16 oz by volume.

Do you sell wholesale?

I don't offer my products wholesale at this time. I may decide to offer wholesale in the future however, so let me know if you'd like to be notified if it happens!

In the meantime, I do offer a significant quantity discount on sample packs. Check out my "Mix & Match Tea Sampler" listing for more information and reach out if you need a specific quantity for something special! :)
